How often does the LMRFD respond out of the fire district, and does anyone ever pay for those responses?

New Report SaysRural Patients Wait Longest for EMS

This new report says rural patients wait longest for EMS response. It says rural people wait up to 30 minutes for EMS.

From Volunteer to Fire Captain How Fast We Forget

The story says "Tony DeMaio is no different from the multitude of youngsters who dreamed of becoming a firefighter, putting out fires and saving lives

"I was working at the video rental store one day in 1992 and a GVFD captain walked in and started talking with me," DeMaio said. "He asked if I wanted to come down to the fire department and be a volunteer, and the rest is history."

I guess he forgot he started as a volunteer and how important he was when his community needed him. It's just too bad he doesn't want volunteers now that he's chief....
