If you have applied to the LMRFD as a volunteer and not even received a call or even a thanks but no thanks, try the NACFD Volunteer Page...
I sent NACFD a volunteer application and within days was being interviewed. I start my fire training with NACFD later this month and have EMS training coming up soon in Chloride.
The NACFD has been great about coming to CRT meetings in Chloride and supporting volunteers in that community. Chloride is 1.5 sm's and has a very active volunteer group that's trained 5% of Chlorides population in CPR/AED and First Aid.
As I've said so many times, there is NO LAW requiring firefighters to be trained to level I or level II firefighters. Fire districts can train volunteers as exterior only firefighters or EMS only.
