Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire District Looking for Volunteers

(NOTE) On October 11th my afib was action up and I went in by LMRFD Ambulance. Not only was the crew great they included a young volunteer who was doing a ride along. This is what we need some dedicated young people interested in EMS who could start as an EMR advance to EMT and then paramedic.

I'm glad Chief Bonnie is actively looking for volunteers, even for EMS... We could have additional ambulances with the use of a few volunteers. About 90% if calls are medical calls and 90% of those are BLS basic life support calls that an EMT and EMR can handle.

The Arizona Revised Code is clear that Emergency Medical Responders EMR's can assist and drive an ambulance in rural areas under 10,000 people like Dolan Springs. The EMR training I took was given by NACFD paramedics in Kingman. It only costs $250 to train an Nationally Certified EMR Emergency Medical Responder.

Firefighters are another area where volunteers are a great resource. Firefighter training can be taught at the local level by our current firefighters and paramedics.

Communications is another area where volunteers could be a resource. A few people with easy to license and inexpensive GMRS or General Mobile Radio Service radios. We have a GMRS repeater here in Dolan Springs as well as access to repeaters in Las Vegas and Kingman.
