Yet the LMRFD home page continues to tell people thinking of moving to the area, or visiting the SkyWalk at the Grand Canyon that, "Our main station is located in Dolan Springs, Arizona. We have three stations that are fully staffed under normal conditions"
Truth is there's two stations, one in Dolan Springs with one or two fire fighters, and one in Meadview I'm told has one firefighter most of the time.
The medical page tells people "We operate seven ALS ambulances and four rescue vehicles with extrication capabilities".
Truth is there's one ambulance, not seven, and on some calls only one person showed up in the ambulance.
It's been two years and still people are being told they're safe coming to the area. Would you move here, or visit knowing in an emergency you might get an ambulance within 20 minutes to an hour 98% of the time.

I see the LMRFD web page has been updated to show the current status of the fire department.

Thank you, now people can make informed decisions.

The current ongoing financial information and Monthly Meeting Minutes are posted on the front page and archived in "public information" for anyone to access. Our webmaster and IT guy left for higher pay elsewhere.

ReplyDeleteThe post was about still telling people the LMRFD has 7 ALS ambulances, and manpower. People visiting the area have the right to know there's1 ambulance, not 7, and on a good day it has 2 people.
ReplyDeleteMy point was, there is nobody left who has access to make changes to the website. I have limited access and utilize it to the best of my ability. It has not been a high priority, as the remaining personnel here have been consumed with life and death issues and keeping the doors open.

DeleteIt's been 2 1/2 years, and any high school kid could erase the information that's not current on the wwb page. Wasn't there $41,000 in the budget for communications, and IT?
ReplyDeleteThere is no excuse to have such misleading information on the web page after 2 1/2 years.

ReplyDeleteNot
ReplyDeleteNot just any high school kid has security clearance and passwords to access the site. That is the problem. The budget for communications and IT is primarily for the radio upgrade so crews can communicate with dispatch and each other which previously was inadequate. All of these issues have been discussed at monthly meetings during the last 2.5 years. It is unfortunate that you choose this venue to question everything that goes on in the LMRFD instead of attending meetings and getting the facts and data straight.
ReplyDeleteNot everybody has nothing else to do but attend meetings.
DeleteWho has the password?
And that's what some moron gets $7,000/month for?
